Add to Cart Behavior Bindings Problems

Thread began 10/19/2009 6:18 pm by ryanteets270615 | Last modified 10/20/2009 3:51 pm by Jason Byrnes | 882 views | 2 replies |

Add to Cart Behavior Bindings Problems

Following the directions in the Add to Cart Bindings Tab to connect cart columns to the database columns, causes the dialog box to bind the database items to the wrong cart columns.

The directions say: Select Name and choose the Default value lightning bolt to open the Dynamic Data dialog box. Expand the Recordset (rsItems) entry and select ItemName; click OK. When you return to the Bindings tab, click any other column to confirm your option.

However, when I return back to the Bindings Tab, the Default value that I select for the Name gets assigned to the ID column, NOT the Name Column. Likewise, when I try to assign values to the other columns, it assigns them to either the ID column or the one above the item I was working on.

I can't seem to bind anything correctly. HELP??

Is it a click order problem?

I'm trying to troubleshoot why this it doing this. It seems to be an elusive cat and mouse chase trying to bind the database columns to the cart fields. It shows the default value but then after selecting the right one in the recordset, it gets bound to the wrong item. Going back and trying to correct the wrongly bound items continues to bind wrong items all over the place.

Is there a specific click order that I'm missing??

Here is a screen capture video of what is happening to me.

I seem to recall something similar to this happening in an older version of eCart.

What version of eCart are you using? Please make sure you have version 4.5.2 installed. If you have a previous version, you will need to remove it from the extension manager before installing the newer one.
