USPS quote. Any Idea what this error means I'm doing wrong?

USPS quote. Any Idea what this error means I'm doing wrong?

description = "Shipping quote failed. We're sorry."

full response = "9740497402110REGULAR1Priority Mail10.55"

Does it matter that I'm testing this from my local machine, and not the URL I registered with the post office?

My package material weighs one pound. Is this valid syntax for a total weight calculation in the ecart object? TotalWeight = "[Weight] * [Quantity] + 1"

Thanks

This looks like the full request to USP not the full response. Can you send a copy of the shipping failure page? double check that you are outputting the full Response, not the full request.

It should not matter that you are using your testing server, it should still work.

Yes, that is a valid total weight calculation.

shipping failure page details...

Here's the section of my failure page I think you might be interested in... One other question, Is there someplace I should be entering my USPS webtools password for the quote to work? The checkout wizard doesn't prompt me for it anywhere (that I can tell).

Thanks for your help!

I checked into the error

the error message actually contains the correct shipping calculation (minus the +1 lb for shipping materials) in this example here's the breakdown...

error= "974049740240REGULAR1Priority Mail6.10"

<starting zipcode '97404'><destination zipcode '97402'> <pounds '4'> <ounces '0'><package type 'regular'><classID + mailclass '1' + 'priority mail'><retail rate '6.10'>

so, why is it returning the value as an error? and how do I get it to reflect my +1lb shipping rule?

We were able to resolve this in a connect meeting session. You had both UPS and USPS shipping applied to the page which was causing an issue. Also the weight was not being set correctly.

The calculation was being set to use the total weight of the cart as the weight of each item as well.
