Can powerstore handle sub-categories?

Can powerstore handle sub-categories?

When checking out the demo version of Powerstore I noticed that unlike most other eCommerce applications it didn't seem to have any facility to create sub-categories of products.
I can't think of a way it could handle the navigation of more than 10 or 20 categories.
Am I missing something or is this a limiting aspect of Powerstore's handling of larger inventories?

This is true. The powerstore is definitely designed for a store with less than 20 categories of items.

You would want to add subcategories if you wanted more, which is possible but requires database updates and updates to the queries used to populate the menu.

Regarding categories - Is it really not capable of having one product in more than one category?

Basically I want to have product TYPE - as a category (for instance, strollers), and I also want to allow the customer to look at products via the BRAND - (for instance, eddie bauer) - so I'd need the stroller listed in teh stroller category, as well as the eddie bauer category so it can easily be found by both queries.

How can I get this accomplished? When I update a product using the admin section, it only allows me to select one category.

That is true. In the current version one product can be in only one category. These are both good suggestions for updates to the powerstore that I imagine we will want to implement in a future update.
