Database email field

Database email field

I have a db table of employees, with phone, name, etc and one field is email. On the presenting page, EMAIL is what the website visitor sees, but with a mailto: link calling up the db email field. I suspect this isn't obscure enough to keep the email addy from being harvested.

Any suggestions on a better way to manage this? Thanks!

I can't think of anything you could do to have a mailto link and keep the email address from being available to anyone that can see the page it is on.

Usually I would just send the email with WA Universal Email and a contact form if I want the email address to stay secure.

Thanks Ray. Since there are more than 200 employees contact forms for all of them would be too labor intensive.

Someone pointed out that javascript could manage this but I've not figured it out yet. This was the reference page: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3624667/how-to-spamproof-a-mailto-link

You could do it with one database driven page. The from or to can come from the record set.

Probably over my head and you have more important things right now. Maybe we can tackle it later.

Let me know if you want to schedule something... I have about every other week where I can do work. I'll have time for a few days now.

Thank you but this particular client is non-responsive. But if you have time to look at the other one, they are eager to move ahead. See the request per ticket.
