just to confirm

just to confirm

Hello,

Before I start working through your tutorials, etc., I just want to confirm that the scenario I have in mind will work in CMS.

I will eventually have about 40 separate Presenters, each of whom must at the minimum provide me with (a) a bio with photos and etc., (b) the classes they are going to teach along with descriptions thereof; couple of other things not necessary to name, but you get the idea.

Am I correct in believing that the WebAssist CMS will allow me to give each of those 40-some Presenters access to a template page in which they can provide such details ... and that I will then be able to "suck" those details in to a set of pages that potential Festival Attendees can browse. These will be filled with results to recordsets I design such as "all classes being taught on Sunday", "all Presenters living in Kathmandu", and any other random results and criteria I might supply for such a results page, and which will then be displayed?

Thank you,
KAB

I'd probably do a custom table and database application to make that work and not PowerCMS. PowerCMS is more for general site contents, not content that changes for each user like you are describing.

Hi

It has been a while since I worked with PowerCMS, and that is what I had gradually been concluding.

My only other question then is that it used to be straight forward to insert eh old "FCK Editor" I believe it was called, and so that one could capture input on the fly, and then shovel it in a database.

Do you have a tutorial or similar available that might tell me how to make such a keyboard to gather input available to people. It has been so long since I last did that, and I vaguely remember that it suddenly no longer became possible?

I find it hard to believe you would remove such a useful feature, and if you could indicate where it is I would be obliged,
Thank you.

FOUND IT

I apologise.
I decided to search around, and have just found the HTML Editor
It has just been so long.

Thank you for your kindness, and sorry for the trouble

You don't have a database update server behavior on the page. Go to WebAssist->MySQLi->Data Manipulation->Update Record to apply the update record server behavior on the page.

Hi,

Dialogue box finds correct connection OK. But am then confronted with error message saying: "No Tables Found".
I have tried restarting DreamWeaver; and also uninstalling and then reinstalling extensions.
No luck.
Indeed, at one point I had a file that suddenly seemed to have three instances of the editor. I keep deleting and trying to insert again.

I will try a couple more times.

Thank you,
KAB

Usually this is because of bad testing server settings in your Dreamweaver site definition. Most likely the site url is wrong.

Hello,

I have checked this numerous times, on both the main and testing server. Have also recreated page several times, and installed and uninstalled extension.

Went into Advanced Settings, DreamWeaver Site Definition to ensure "PHP/MySQL" model properly selected.

Still getting error of being told there are no tables.

URL in site defintion is in private area.

Thank you.
KAB

UPDATE:
Have noticed there is a SECOND connections folder for the PowerCMS
That second folder is in a subdirectory (details in private area).
Would that make any difference?

We had a lot of trouble getting that to work, especially uploading files.
Will uninstall, however, it this might be compromising things.
