Handling International Countries?

Handling International Countries?

Hello,

First of all thank you for the smooth way everything has of late been working with eCart. I am very grateful as it has helped my "issues" and "situation" a lot.

An International Donor (UK-based) just tried to use my page, and reported that they were unable to progress beyond the continue button on the checkout page.

I went to the page myself and found the same. Is there something I need to adjust to make it possible for international visitors to proceed? I have checked with the Payment Gateway (Authorize.net) and I have everything set up to work just fine in such cases.

(Pressing the button to use the PayPal option seems to work just fine, by the way).

I will put the URL involved in the Private Area of the next screen.

Thank you,
KB.

It should work... Unfortunately I don't have a valid UK credit card and associated address to test with.

I'd need that to fully debug this issue to make sure it wasn't something simple like a bad card or mismatched postal code.

Hi,

Try: Charles Darwin
Christ's College
St Andrew's Street
Cambridge
CB2 3BU
UK

Tel:
Tel. (44) 1223 334900

(where 44 is the UK country code).

And for a valid card, then authorize.net has a list of cards here:
https://developer.authorize.net/hello_world/testing_guide.html
(but I am pretty sure you already knew that!!)

Authorize.net responded to me and do not have a set of test codes or matching addresses SPECIFIC to the UK.
Their more general listing of test codes for cards is above.

But submitting cards to their Gateway does not seem to be the issue.

When I personally test for myself (using UK addresses I know for a fact exist because I used to live in them!!) then when I fill in the initial checkout page the "Continue" button fails to transfer me to the terminating checkout page (which is where I would then fill in credit card information, that is then sent to authorize.net).

I.e.I am failing to get beyond the first of the two eCart checkout pages.

I have provided you with an existing UK address along with the required test card info for you to try for yourself.

Please do alert me, however, if you do get beyond the first checkout page and the continue button works for you, because I have to put authorize.net into test mode or the test card will fail.

(Or if you fix things and can get past the first page, I can run my own test).

But this is not yet anything to do with authorize.net or or with invalid card info, because a UK address is failing to get past page 1

Thank you,

Hi,

I received this description of events from my UK pupil who had the issue:

"I have just had another go: I Googled you, went to donate, clicked on 'go here to proceed', put in the amount, clicked on 'donate', put in my name and address (having clicked on Visa not Paypal) and clicked on 'continue' at which point the message is 'trying to connect you' but nothing happens".

This is consistent with the description I gave you earlier.
Thank you very much.

Hi,

I will get my UK pupil who first reported it to me to test.
Because of time difference, that might take a while.

Back soonest,

Hi

My UK pupil was quicker than anticipated.

That seems to have worked just fine.

She made a small donation OK, and I got the standard authorized.net receipt sailng in to my Inbolx a few seconds ago.

Thank you so much,

Is there some file (or files) you corrected?
That I now need to download to my local drive?
Thank you.
