I can not install ANY WA extensions - Extension Manager prob

I see this:
Macromedia Extension Manager
Can not update a file
The Extension will not be installed

I have a new laptop, I have tried to re-install all WA extensions.
I have WinXPPro.
I have Administrator priveledges, and I am not technical.

I have reinstalled 2 times Dreamweaver 8 and Extension Manager 1.7.

I have done this several times:

Any clear help would be really appreciated.

Do you have any security software or antivirus running that may interfere with the permissions on certain files? If you do, could you try shutting those down and then try installing the software again?

I did that, and no difference, same message.

Make sure that Dreamweaver is not running during the install.

Always uninstall an extension before re-installing.

Start from a fresh reboot with minimal programs running in the background before install new software to avoid potential problems.

Allow plenty of time for things to complete. Sometimes it looks like nothing is happening for long periods of time. (Extension Manager is not the finest piece of software ever written)

Clear the temp folder (start run %temp% delete all files that the system lets you delete in that folder, ignore the rest)

I have several users on the Windows XP Pro machine.

I am the Administrator with 2 other users. I stay on Administrator.

How do I:
- delete Dreamweaver 8 and Extension Mgr 1.7
-and reinstall them?

I have tried Remove first then Add New Programs.
See 0,2817,1618975,00.asp

Must be Registry issues.
I'm trying CCleaner now - its uninstall program.
And I did find this:
4e7826b7.html

I really thank all about this and I am sorry about not being sensitive to time differences.

One thing to note is that not all our extensions are supported in Dreamweaver 8.

Next make sure you have the latest update to Dreamweaver 8:
downloads_updaters.html#dw8
