Data Search

I have added one new field (metro_area) to a page for a data search and then inserted two new columns on a page that I want to do a search for:

metro_area, meatro_area2

The search field I called metro_area but when I open the DataAssist Search dialog box the columns added (metro_area or metro_area2) do not exist as an item to select as a field from the database. There is indeed on there as it is actually being displayed on the page.

Dreamweaver is connecting to your testing server database to show the list of columns... maybe the columns weren't added there?

I think you might have had some custom search code added.... it may not be safe to edit it in the Server Behavior anyway.

Have you looked at the search code on the page? It would probably be pretty easy to copy and paste code from another field to add the search values for the new fields.

How can that be when the DB set to localhost?

It uses the URL listed in your Dreamweaver site definition. Localhost means different things depending on the server url it is browsing, which is determined by the testing server url listed in your Dreamweaver Site definition.

I'm sorry but I'm not following. The test server is gone, the new server is the only one up now and it's pointed at rsavvy.com. New changes to pages are being displayed t he only thing not working right is the update part of the EXT. If I look at the table, by attempting to create a new recordset the table fields are there.

I may have to do screen sharing to debug. Dreamweaver could be caching the data. Have you tried going to the Database panel and clicking "test"? That should cause a refresh. Other than that, it should be using the testing server settings to connect to the database and show the data. If you post your site definition file and steps to reproduce, then I can add your site to my Dreamweaver and see the issue.

The key to getting my help is allowing me to reproduce the problem. Once I do that, then I can usually fix it provided I have access to the files I need.

Ray, you've worked on the site many times, I'm sure you have access at this point. LOL

I added the search filter for that column. Did you scroll down on your list of columns in the screen shot? I found the new columns at the bottom of the list. I added them as includes filters so you can enter any part of the metro area. Please download the results page for your records.
