Intermittent Image Upload Rotation Issues

I've seen some old threads about this, but it sounds like it was fixed long ago. I don't think I've run into it until now for some reason. If I upload a Jpeg straight from my Sony camera or straight from my iPhone, vertical images get rotated horizontally. If, however, I open the images in photoshop and export as a "Save for Web" (changing nothing else), they upload correctly in vertical fashion.

I've attached my insert page. For some reason, I can't get the images to upload here but I've posted publically in this folder http://adventsite.live/test-photos/ . One is raw straight from the phone (IMG_1582.jpg which rotates improperly), the other has been opened in photoshop and saved for web (IMG_1582mod.jpg which uploads as expected).

Can I get a URL to reproduce the issue on your server and a sample image I can use? I'll also need FTP access. I'm thinking you may have an older version of the file upload include file.

I'm not sure how that would happen. It should be a fresh install. It's only local at the moment but I'll get it posted.

I can't seem to connect with that FTP information. Please test it... maybe your server has IP address restrictions in place?

I've updated the helperphp.php file to automatically rotate images that come from phones and have an orientation set.
