DFP/DA only displaying duplicate filenames on DA Detail pages

DFP/DA only displaying duplicate filenames on DA Detail pages

Please can I have advice on how to solve this urgently?

Customers are placing orders (via a DA Insert page) which includes an image uploaded using DFP2. DA Detail pages show the customer the final product before they decide to pay.

My BIG problem is that the only images which display correctly are duplicate file uploads i.e. ones where DFP has renamed the new file to [FileName]_[Increment]. NONE of the non-duplicate images display at all!

I am going completely nuts over this - everything seems to works perfectly for the incrementally renamed image files - but NOTHING displays for a non-duplicate image uploaded (i.e. I can't launch commercially until this is solved as customers obviously have their own filenames). The original files themselves are uploading to the server fine!

I can only rename files in DFP2 if the filename exists already else I'd just rename everything!

Please can you tell me when I have to do to correct this frustrating situation ASAP - I really am frantic. What am I doing wrong?!

Many thanks. Ann

In the DataAssist insert record server behavior, what have you bound the file name column to?

make sure it is bound to the Server File name Variable from the WA Uploaded File (File Field name) Group.

DFP/DA only duplicate file displaying - now urgent

Thanks. The file is correctly bound (else the duplicate files wouldn't display correctly - right?). I sent you the pages yesterday via a support ticket showing this which should help diagnose the issue.

Please could I have a solution to this ASAP-please telephone me if that's easier (GMT+9h). I can't continue until it is solved. The whole point of the website is lost unless this is solved too so it's a major deal for me.

Many thanks,

Kind regards,

Ann

When you are uploading to multiple directories, there is a Server File name created for each.

You are binding to the main Server File name instance. For the large image Select the "imageoriginals/[File Field]: Server File name" variabel. for the thumbnail, select the "imageoriginalthumbs/[File Field]: Server File name" variabel.

progress update/solution

Hi there,

I seem to have found the solution to this - rather odd but hey who cares.

Things were resolved when I remove the "convert to JPG" option on DFP AND remove the annotation of "thumb" to thumbnails (which on closer inspection of my dbase was only saving the first one as x_thumb.jpg, then saving subsequent files as x_1.jpg)...I have my full files and thumbs in different folders (and names stored in different columns) so no probs to lose that functionality.

Lots of messages keep popping up about Helper.php having been modified outside Dreamweaver so I do hope this won't revert to the problem when I shut down and reopen - I'll let you know if it does!

Thanks guys - your support is very much appreciated.

p.s. Jason, please ignore the appendage to the old support ticket, but the support ticket itself should stay open as you mentioned that the problem it relates to (UE issue) can only be addressed once site is live...cheers
