Search Engine Submission Option Missing

Search Engine Submission Option Missing

Ok, I bought this product because your homepage "claims" it will autogenerate a sitemap and also submit that sitemap to search engines. Well, the submit to search engine option appeared after initial installation, but does not appear at all anymore. Actually no menu options appear other then the screens for generating the Sitemap. I have tried all your user manual and the one covering this on your site has a broken link.
The product is Surveyor, bought it today, unfortunately.

Do you not have the icon in the toolbar that looks like the one attached?

or the option under Insert > WebAssist > Surveyor > Submit Site Map

There are access points in the insert bar under the WebAssist section and you can also go to the Insert->WebAssist->Surveyor->Submit Site Map.

It is a different interface from the one you create a sitemap with.

For the help documentation, where are you accessing this from? I would like to verify this and get it fixed.

Missing Sumission option

Jimmy,
OK, that's what I was talking about. In Dreamweaver, I click on "site" and the option for WebAssist is there, but it only has Surveyor.
>WebAssist->Surveyor->Submit Site Map <<<<<<< does not exist in my copy

I know I saw then when I first installed it, but the Webassist is very unstable I guess on a Windows 64 bit system or something, cause it has crashed about 50 times since I installed it. I will try to uninstall, reboot and re-install and see if that can get the stupid submission option to show up again.
I have ready all the documentation on their site, but have not found anything that actually outlined the steps for submission with the graphics in the materials, like they do for creating the sitemap. UGH
Its frustrating, I thought this was a good tool, from what I read, but it did not have any disclaimer about not running properly on a Windows 64 bit system. I have imagine anything else causing a problem as it is the only extension I have installed in Dreamweaver and my Dreamweaver has only been installed less then 7 days.
Thanks
Wes

Fixed

Ok, I uninstalled and reinstalled and the Submit option showed up under "insert" in Dreamweaver CS4. I do have to say, when you uninstall Surveyor, it is an UGLY UGLY Uninstall. When I restarted my Dreamweaver, I thought my entire Dreamweaver was going to crash because I received no less then 10 error message resulting from the uninstall of Surveyor extension. Once I closed all those errors. I opened Manage Extensions again and ran the install again. This time it worked and added submit sitmap back into my option and of course when I closed and opened Dreamweaver the flurry of error message were now gone.
I guess they need to hire a new uninstall developer for their tool or some new software development management. Can't believe they rolled it out with such dirty code on the uninstall. Also, if you run it once, you must close Dreamweaver and open it again to make the Surveyor tool run again. That's seems really stupid, run once, then close the host application, then open host application and re-run 3rd party extension.
ALSO, I have noticed when it generates the sitemap, it fails to grab stylesheet information and put it in the the sitmap it builds, which I have now discovered, makes some nasty error messages when you use Surveyor to submit to Yahoo.
I wonder if anyone tested this software before they released it. LOL

It is difficult to test for every situation since everyone's system specs are different. The product was tested on multiple platforms and worked there.

You should be able to run Surveyor multiple times without having to restart Dreamweaver. I'm not sure why you are unable to. Try running Surveyor from different access points (Insert menu, Insert Bar, WebAssist Site Tools).

As for getting .css files in the sitemap, you can specify what file extensions that will be included in the sitemap. Just add .css file extension to that list and your sitemap will have .css files included.
