Facebook Tracking Scripts

I wanted to add some Facebook tracking pixel scripts to our web store for some advertising we are doing with them. Could you help me figure out where to place them? I have the page view pixel there and its working.

Wondering about where I can place a tracker for “Add to Cart” and a “Purchase” scripts so that it will correctly report when customers have done each action.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

The purchase script would be added on the checkout_success.php page. The add to cart script is a bit more difficult. You could probably add it to the add to cart button on the webassist/plugins/shopping_cart/add_to_cart.php page. Since that button submits the form, it might not work consistently and would have to be tested. You might be able to use the onsubmit event of the form on that same page instead of the onclick event of the button to initiate the add to cart script, which might be more consistent.

Thank you! I should probably know this but how do I access this page to insert and test the script?

You should be able to:
1) Log in to admin
2) Do a test transaction in order to view the checkout success page
3) There will be an edit link on the bottom of the page. Click it to open the editor and click the "source" button and enter the script there.

Thanks! Giving that a shot! I got the checkout page but the only edit link was at the top so opened that, selected source and pasted the script there.

It should be the checkout success page. The checkout page would record before payment.
