Data Assist Page creation not working correctly

Hello
I am having a problem creating Data Assist Pages
As a test I have created 1 simple db table to insert data and then show this on a page

I am using WA Data Assist Pages wizard with the result shown in image DA Create Page.jpg

I show the data tables in DataBase records1.jpg

The result shown in DA Create Page.jpg is incorrect. It should show two fields and one record only.

When DA Create Page opens the create database is ticked and is slow to be changed to no tick image attached.
I suspect it maybe something to do with WA_Preview.js which is attached.
I hope this is all clear Ray.
Regards
John

You didn't check the "create database table for me" check box. That means it is using your existing insert table and won't edit the structure. The two columns must be the columns you created in the table before running the wizard.

You should create your database table outside of the wizard with whatever columns you want and then run the wizard to create the html forms that interact with your table.

Yes Ray I created the table first before opening the wizard.

When I opened the wizard the "create database table for me" check box was already checked.
I unchecked it but the wizard came up with the wrong db table information.

I am using Databridge 1.2.4

Thanks
John

Just try toggling the table selection to another table and back again. That should force the refresh.

I tried to change the database but it did not seem to want to do that. Please see image below.

I also notice that although I created a MySql connection I now have a MySQL_i as well.

The error implies you tried to create a new connection with the same name as an old connection. It is telling you to delete the old one if you want to create a new one.

Instead of changing connections, what about just changing the table selected?

It will automatically create MySQLi versions of existing connections. You can just ignore it if you aren't using MySQLi yet.

Hello Ray
I used MySql_i and I made some progress.
It went through the extension process quite well but when the page was published there were two errors
Warning: mysql_select_db()
expects parameter 2 to be resource, object given in C:\xampp\htdocs\AS2\Insert2.php on line 37
Warning: mysql_query()
expects parameter 2 to be resource, object given in C:\xampp\htdocs\AS2\Insert2.php on line 41

I attach a copy of the page code
I am using one connection for multiple databases, is that OK?
Is there a list of extensions that are ready for use with MySql_i?
Many thanks
John

It looks like the wizard didn't run properly. This is the MySQL version of the code with a MySQLi connection. Please post a US phone number or Skype contact information and I'll do screen sharing to try to figure out what is going on.

Thanks Ray,
I thought I would document my latest attempt to get CMS working.

1 Create New DB Table named insert_records
2 Create folder in htdocs as-cms
3 Create DW page insert-records.php
4 Open this page in DW
5 Type a word at the top left and highlight the word
6 As per help files I tried to make a connection via
WebAssist/cms/Add content to power CMS but was unable to.
7 I made the connection in DW via Database + MySqli Connection.
8 Having made a connection I opened Create PowerCMS Content Area
9 The connection was named, the Content location was named the same as the table created.
10 I clicked finish, I was then asked if I wanted to automatically Put the necessary files I selected OK
11 I came to Step 4 of 5 and entered the username and password.
12 I received the error message
ERROR: Failed to save the settings in the database. Please verify your database connection.
13 When I look in php/myadmin and select the table wa_settings
the username and password are not included (created).

Regards
John

PowerCMS does not work with MySQLi connections yet. You will have to create a standard MySQL connection and use it.
