I want to dynamically show an increased price based on the optional price selection

Hey WebAssist gurus, I am looking to modify my product detail page where the OptionPriceIncrement record increases the ProductPrice. I have successfully added the dynamic price increase option to the shopping. While it's great to see the increased prices being added to my shopping cart, from a usability best practices standpoint, I would like to create a function that dynamically increases the total product price on the details page BEFORE my customer adds the item to the shopping cart. For example, if a product costs $25 and the customers clicks an option that will increase the price by $5, I would like for the customer to see the product price changed to $25. I have been experimenting with various methods using javascript but I have been unsuccessful thus far in my attempts. Can you please offer me some assistance?

One easy option is to show the total price in the select list. A more difficult approach is to update a span on the page with javascript onchange.

We could help with either in a premier support ticket.

To update the total in a span you could maybe add the total price as a parameter to the <option> tags and then get the value to populate a span onchange of the select list.

Did this help? Tips are appreciated...

Ray, thank you for answering my question. I never thought about that approach, to add a total in the span along with a total price parameter to the option tags. Let me see if I can do this myself. However, I just might need to purchase a Premium support ticket if I keep failing at this. : )

Thanks,
Robert
