Power CMS Login stopped functioning

Hello, I heard from a client today that they couldn't login to powercms. Assuming they simply forgot their password, I checked it via PHPMyAdmin.
It still wouldn't work for them or me. I tried logging into my superadmin, and that didn't work either. As a last ditch effort - which I don't think I was suppose to do) I changed the admin user name and password in the kfm_users in PhpMyAdmin. That still didn't work.

Any reason why logins would stop working? How can I getthem back?

Many thanks!
Chris

You can see the error message on the bottom of the login page:

Warning: Unknown: open(/var/cpanel/php/sessions/ea3/sess_1135a974ef974167d98e22b04d586287, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in Unknown on line 0

Warning: Unknown: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/var/cpanel/php/sessions/ea3) in Unknown on line 0

This tells you that the session.save_path is set wrong in the php.ini file. Report this to your hosting provider and they should be able to fix it for you.

thanks so much - that is actually the user name/password I changed in the PHPMyAdmin kfm_users as an attempt to figure out why it isn't working...will that pose a problem that I changed it?

No, that table isn't even used, so changes there won't matter.

I did hear back from the hosting company with the following:

Hello,

Thank you for the update.

This appears to be the correct domain name, however, I am unable to access the administrative area of the CMS. Please note that I have been using those login credentials:

Admin_Username: savio

Admin_Password: 20808acldsk

In order to review the issues in details, could you, please update us here with the correct administrative login credentials?

We will be looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,

Geoffrey Williams

It seems that because I can't login that they can't determine what the save path should be?

------------------------------------

Actually they just sent me another update:

I am glad to inform you that I have resolved the reported issue. What I have done is to reconfigure the PHP settings for your hosting account and now you should be able to access the administrative area of the website.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards,

Geoffrey Williams

it looks like it is now working.

Thanks so much!
