Mysqli
Are we any closer to getting databridge MySqli compliant??
I'm closer, but still no announcement to make.
Hopefully so because we need a webassist.
I have the extensions of Dmxzone, they are really powerful, but doing relatively simple works with them is insufferable. Ajax is fine, but using ajax for EVERYTHING seems unnecessary. Apart from touching code with them is very complex. It gives the feeling that they are designed to make code customization difficult.
Instead the latest webassist extension, mysqli, does what it has to do in a simple and clear way. Customizing the code is really easy because the classes are easily understandable. I really love this extension that allows me to do simple things with extensions but keep programming the most complex and personalized code by hand.
Personally the extensions at the design level are not necessary, I think dreamweaver and themeforest already fulfill this task. Rather, I hope as a water of May a dataassist update compatible with mysqli and php7, and to be able to do without the old "Server behaviors" of dreamweaver replacing them by natives of webassist.
Regards!
thanks, I new you would be on top of it.
For 3 years I've been seeing this same response.... 3 years since you released the MySQLi extension... eCart got an immediate upgrade and DataBridge is still in limbo. I can't use your products to build anything new so I've been forced to move on and hope that someday you might catch up.
I like webassist products... I wish I could use them! I check back every 3 - 4 months with a little anticipation... only to continually be disappointed!
Thanks for the feedback. I'm doing my best to make progress.

My sense if Ray would agree with you. That said, a little dose of reality is called for. If you watch the level of support that occurs in these forums and then add code development time you might be a little more "lenient" in your views.
Most loyal WA users are frustrated. I'm frustrated as well -- for Ray, not with him. If this were easy anyone could do it. I suspect Ray has the skill set to just go to work for a larger company, get a great paycheck, and live a (relatively) stress free life. He has chosen to do this instead. I've watched him handle support efforts here with grace and class, as well as address the concerns of "Where's the update?". Most of us run small businesses, and should probably be more empathetic.
Just sayin'. . . .
Mike... I fail to see where I have said anything wrong... it is just a "matter of fact". I like Web Assist products, I agree in terms of support on these forums, and I am not angry - I am simply expressing my frustrations... I simply cannot move on with the old product (DataBridge) without MySQLi support.
Ray can keep providing us with a moving deadline (now 3+ years and counting) but I don't have that luxury with my customers. That is my "dose of reality", and I accepted that about 2 years ago :)
Cheers!
There is nobody wrong here. People have a right to be frustrated at me, webassist, adobe, or any other contributing factors that have slowed down the release. I'm making some good progress recently, and hope that I'll be able to get it done soon.
If people get frustrated and move on, then I'll have less support forum posts to respond to and it will probably get done a little more quickly. That is the double edged sword of it all. Maybe the only reason that I'm making more progress on it recently is that people have moved on, and I won't be able to sell it anyway. I'll still be working on it. I feel like I'm getting close now, and I want to use it once it is done, so there's one customer anyway.
I'm hoping once it gets released I can sell a lot of units and use that to reinvest and get the ball rolling on extension development, so that updates start coming out more quickly. Right now, one issue is that, as you point out, we haven't had a big product release in a few years. That means that we aren't really making enough money to fund development, so I have to balance support on this forum, taking on projects that make money, and working on the extension update when I can.
If the release is a success, then I can stop taking on other projects and get back to developing extensions full time and things will happen much more quickly. If it doesn't sell well, then things will still move slowly, but I'll still be making updates when I can, because the side projects I do take on to make money I end up using the webassist products for. The truth is I make more using the webassist products at this point than selling them, but I hope that turns around soon.
I never said anyone was -- and thanks for making my point!!
