Error Inspecting SQL - No Select Statement Found

Hi WA guys! I know this has been addressed before in 2014 but there was no solution posted (other than the dash to underscore workaround which is not my case). Thing is that I have purchased MySQLi and I'm trying to create my first web app. I successfully created the MySQLi model with the awesome visual builder but as soon as I go to Server Behavior / Webassist / MySQLi recordset I get the following message:
Error Inspecting SQL- no select statement (these values will be automatically removed....)
I have Apache/2.4.7 (Win32) PHP/5.5.8 with MySQL Server version: 5.6.15 , my table has no dashes on the table names, I downloaded the extension a week ago so I guess I have the latest version (MySQLi Server Behaviors Current version: 1.0.4), I have also tried adding a password to the database and finally I have removed the _mmServerScripts folder with no luck. Any clues? Thanks!

Are you inspecting a SQL statement or are you opening up the interface for the first time with now existing select statement? This "error" will occur when you first try to use the visual query builder if you don't start with a select statement and can just be ignored. It isn't really a problem that it can't inspect your Select statement if you didn't have one in the first place.

Thanks for answering fast Ray. I have used the Webassist / Database / Model Database following the tutorials. I made all the joins among the tables, all good. Then I proceed to create a record set , again following the tutorial, as soon as I click on Query Builder to create a more complex query I get the message. But now that you mention that there's no select to work from, I thought I was able to create one from scratch using the query builder as in the tutorial, but I will try what you suggest and let you know. Thanks, wait for my reply in a few!.

Okay, as you said, I have to create a simple Select query first, then it lets me in the Query Builder. Only strange thing that I see now is that the joins I have made in the Model Database were not kept. Also, if I make the joins again in this Query Builder window I lose the arrows in design view mode (to give it a name to the query builder window) but I keep those joins in the SQL Statement tab below. Strange. Not the best way to work, I see everything goes well on the tutorials, maybe I'm doing something wrong? Also, if I save the PHP page where I was creating the MySQLi recordset and re open it, the recordset is not saved.
P/S: see screenshot please.
