Checkout failure

Ray, in the PayPal return info, is there a way to display more information to the customer on why their transaction failed.

Cheers

You can, but paypal doesn't suggest it for security reasons. If you tell someone their card failed because of a bad expiration date, then a fraudulent user can keep trying with different dates.

The error messages are available through the bindings panel. From the bindings panel, click the plus button and go to Ecart->Checkout-> and choose the payment type you are doing and want to show the errors for.

Thanks Ray, make sense, we don't get many failures, but when we do they usually call and ask why.
We had one the other day and she said she'd just used the card on another website and all was Ok

So we went to PayPal terminal and tried manually and it was rejected by the issuing bank, so I was just thinking something simple depending on the return result saying "Sorry your card was declined, please try another card"

Cheers

Maybe just put that message on the failure page. Really once your code is working it should be the only reason why a transaction fails.
