Captcha validation not stopping email

Hi Jason,

I was wondering if you could give me a hand.

We started having a few spam email "blasts" coming through on one of our contact us pages. I decided to add a captcha to stop it. I thought I had it fixed however the way I have somehow configured it is that when NO captcha is entered the page does not send and email. However if any character or number of characters are entered (even one) it still returns to the page but also sends an email out.

I have tried initially to simply add a captcha then literally rebuilt the page. Both my effort resulted with the same form actions.

Not sure what I have change now but even if I add the correct captcha it returns to the contact-us page and doesn't go to the "email sent" page as set in Universal email. As mentioned in all cases as long as I have something in the captcha field the email goes through now.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Your validation code is below you email code, so the email gets sent even if the validation fails.

Move the code on contactus.php on lines 138-160 above the email code on line 51 and it should stop sending emails when validation fails.

Hi Ray,

i moved the code as described and it didn't work. I'm trying a few other things but I'm at a point where nothing is going out.

Your trigger for the email seems to be set to a button that doesn't exist. Make sure the email trigger is the same as the validation trigger.

That did it Ray, thanks. Not sure where that trigger came from but it didn't make any sense.
