Captcha validation not stopping email

Hi Jason,

I was wondering if you could give me a hand.

We started having a few spam email "blasts" coming through on one of our contact us pages. I decided to add a captcha to stop it. I thought I had it fixed however the way I have somehow configured it is that when NO captcha is entered the page does not send and email. However if any character or number of characters are entered (even one) it still returns to the page but also sends an email out.

I have tried initially to simply add a captcha then literally rebuilt the page. Both my effort resulted with the same form actions.

Not sure what I have change now but even if I add the correct captcha it returns to the contact-us page and doesn't go to the "email sent" page as set in Universal email. As mentioned in all cases as long as I have something in the captcha field the email goes through now.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.
