Contact form stopped working.

Hi Jason, We have realised this morning that one of our contact forms has stopped working and wondered if you could check all scripts to see if everything is correct. The last time a user successfully sent an enquiry from the web form was on the 10 Oct. since then I have been updating pages on the site but as far as I am aware all pages and scripts that run the web form were left alone. It might be possible that I have disturbed files when synchronising the local site with the remote site thus effecting some of the files. Could you take a look for me and see if there is anything wrong with any of the files. I have already contacted our hosting company and no problem appears to be there end!

ok, i got it to work.

one thing i notice is that you have the from address bound to the email form element.

most hosts will require the from address to be a valid email for the domain. in UE< you can click the From button to access advanced from settings, use a static email address for the from address, for the reply to address, you can use the dynamic binding.

Hi Jason.
This enquiry form is filled out by users on our website so how can I use a static email address if the 'from' email address is the user's email address. How can I use a static email if its going to be different every time a user makes an enquiry? I'm confused!!
That's why I bound it from the form element. I'm quite sure that I've had it like this from the very start and it has been working until recently.

It's 08:45 AM BST as writing this so I am going to take the form offline for now and wait to here from you later today.

Cheers!

That is why i suggested using the advanced from options and setting the reply to address to use the dynamic binding.

it is common that host will look at the FROM address and if it is not a valid email from your domain, treat the email as spam. to get around that , you use a valid email for the from address, but set they reply to address to use the dynamic binding rom your form.
