Adding Custom Toolbars to Power CMS

Adding Custom Toolbars to Power CMS

I want to set up a custom toolbar for my client to use. I've reviewed Lee Firth's tutorial at http://www.webassist.com/tutorials/Adding-A-Custom-Toolbar-to-PowerCMS. According to his directions, I am to start at the “pcms2_toolbarpresets” table which I would assume is in my phpMyAdmin. When I open that folder, I don't have an option to add a toolbar nor any of the other options Lee refers to. Can you explain further and help me accomplish this?

"which I would assume is in my phpMyAdmin. When I open that folder,"

phpMyAdmin is not a folder. It is a MySQL GUI Tool that you open in your web browser.

your host should have a control panel that you use for manageing the domain, the control panel should allow you to access the database using phpMyAdmin.

once you access the database in phpMyAdmin, you will be able to select the tables in the database to edit the contents.

In phpMyAdmin go to the Browse tab to see the contents of the table.

your screen shot shows the structure tab is selected, the structure allows you to see how the table columns are defined.

the Browse tab allows you to browse the information stored in the table.

I've selected the Browse tab but still don't find an option to add a new toolbar. See PM for a screenshot.

Use the Insert Tab to insert a new record.

I've added a "client format" menu per Lee Firth's email however, it's not showing up in the backend of Power CMS. How do I select this toolbar to be used exclusively by a user when that I set up? I'll be adding more menu options when the menu is working. I don't have a full group to include in my "client format" menu.

"How do I select this toolbar to be used exclusively by a user when that I set up?"

Power CMS does not have support for offering different toolbar options on a user basis. This is not an availbale feature.

The toolbar presets that you define in the pcms2_toolbarpresets table will be listed for the admin or live view toolbar options

OK. But you'll see from my screen print that when signed in as super user, I don't have an option to select or specify any menu.

I'll need to troubleshoot directly, see the private message section.
