jquery delete clarification

Hi, I wanted to implement a delete confirmation, whereupon I have a recordset with a repeat region and a corresponding delete button for each individual record that is displayed. I want to use the JQueryUI library. I have look around on Google, but just cannot find answers.

on the official JQueryUI website (under this link: http://jqueryui.com/dialog/#modal-confirmation) I have found the code for the Delete modal. However it opens automatically. How would I go about assigning it to each individual delete button? I have tried numerous times and even thought came close, have failed. Also at one point I got something working, However, what was happening is the very first record on the page called the JQueryUI modal box, but all the other records within the same repeat region didn't do anything. Just puzzled by it but wanting to learn it somehow.

There a lot of examples I have found, while searching Google, however it seems the examples (a) make the JQueryUi modal box open on pageload and (b) I just cannot find examples of how to assign the JQueryUI modal event to a link on the page.

set the autoOption to false:
http://api.jqueryui.com/dialog/#option-autoOpen

you would then need to create a click event on your links that would open the model window::

Thank you Jason, that helps a lot, What I am going to do is setup a support premiere ticket to get the fundamentals of using JQueryUI with php so I can do much more user friendly stuff.

Another issue I face is using the correct JQuery link from a CDN as I find some of the scripts I use fail if I use the latest JQuery build.

Hopefully once I understand more about how to call JQuery functions and vice versa with php it will benefit me greatly in learning more.

One issue that I found a lot while experimenting is that when I added some JQuery to my page, I got the modal box opening up, but then instantly closes...I removed this code and put it in a blank php file and it worked. So something was preventing keeping the modal box opened.
