eCart show if behavior without page reload

I would like to show /hide a <div> with a cart icon and the actual number of items in the cart similar it can be done with the eCart show if behavior,
but without a page reload.

What would be the best practice to achieve this?

Thanks for any hints in advance

you would need to hand code this using ajax.

create a page with the cart quick cart display on, then add an ajax command to load that page into a div when a button is clicked.

if you need help creating the ajax code, we can help in a premiere support appointment.
