Shipping sometimes does not calculate

From your experience, what else would cause shipping not to be calculated besides USPS not accepting 9 digit zip codes? Thank you.

There are numerous other possibilities.

to troubleshoot, open the bindings panel and Expand the USPS binding group and add the Error bindings to your page, this will tell the error being returned by USPS.

It's on a live site though. I, of course, can't replicate the behavior. Most times it works fine. If I add the error bindings, will it tell me? or the buyer?

The buyer will be able to see the error, add note that if there is an error to have them contact you to report the error, and include the shipping address they where using.

The order always goes through though and I can see the full shipping. This had stopped happening and it started all over again. I may need to open a support ticket. Is this something you can look into and get it fixed once and for all? thank you.

We would need steps to reproduce the problem in order to troubleshoot the cause.

If you can reproduce the problem, then we will be able to fix it. But if you are not able to reproduce, there is nothing we have to go on to determine what the cause / fix would be.

Looks like sometime last year you had opened up a support ticket, but there's an option to see my support history and when I click on it it goes back to this support forum. Since that time you've changed your website and I'm trying to find what answer you had given me. Thanks.

I added the usps error code. I got a '0' response. My transaction went through but on the checkout success it did not include the shipping and the the Paypal it did. That's what's happening plus the reverse (a lot more often), where the receipt shows it but Paypal did not charge it. When testing, there was a couple of times, I noticed that the shipping did not show on the confirm.php page, until I pressed 'Refresh' button. I just haven't been able to figure out why this is happening, but Paypal said to check with the 3rd party software developers. I think what is happenning is that the Servers are timing out. Basically, after pressing the Submit Order button on the Confirm page, the 'Connection' tab just goes on and on to the people end up closing the page, so it goes thru paypal, but no receipt is generated. I'm sending a copy of this Gotham web as well. Thank you for your assistance.
