Adding Universal Email to ECart

Adding Universal Email to ECart

I thought I had set-up Universal Email with my Ecart when I originally built the site. But now I can't find it in the Server Behavior panel. I recently uninstalled the old extensions and installed the updated downloads.... would this have removed the UE settings on my site?

How do I either access the UE settings or how do I add a UE element to the page? This is for the confirmation page in my store.... I want it to send us an order notification once an order is placed.

Thanks!

ok, So this is using PayPal Payments standard.

The limitation to paypal payments standard is that it is not a real time payment processor. When the user is returned to your site, the payment has been added to a queue to be processed on a first come first served basis, there is no way to know the status of the order.

Paypal will send the order receipt when the payment has been processed.

If you wish to set up a UE order receipt, you would need to configure an IPN page and add Universal EMail to the IPN Page to send the email when the order has been successfully processed.

For this reason, I recommend payments pro over payments standard.

Thanks so much!

We are working on integrating our store with our Sage Peachtree program so as soon as we can, we'll add the other payment gateway. I guess I initially set it up as payments standard since I knew it was just a temporary payment solution.... Thanks again for your help!

Hello~

Well, long overdue, we've upgraded to PayPal Pro. However, I'm having trouble with your tutorial on Upgrading from PayPal Standard to a Full Shopping Cart. I don't think this is the correct tutorial for what I need, but I can't find another that seems like a better option.

We need to get an email notification from our store (not just PayPal) once a transaction has been completed.

Thanks!

that tutorial is for transferring from using paypal shopping cart buttons to using eCart.

where you already have an eCart store running, all you will need to do is to delete the existing checkout pages, then rerun the checkout wizard and select to use paypal pro as the gateway.

in the checkout wizard, you will have the option to configure the email receipt with Universal Email.
