Product Results page linking from category page

I have a categories page that is supposed to show only the products from that category on the results page. I have it linked to the products_results.php page that DataAssist Search wizard made. It works fine from the Search page.

I am trying to use the results page to show only the results from a categories.php page. It goes to the page, but doesn't show the correct product.

Here is the link in my "categories.php" page:

<a href="products_results.php?<?php echo $row_rsProducts['prodID']; ?>=<?php echo $row_rsProducts['prodID']; ?>"><?php echo $row_rsProducts['prodCategories']; ?></a>

I have 5 test categories: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Each has 1 test product: test product 1, test product 2, etc...

If I click on Category 4, it should show: test product 4. They all show: test product 1 in the products_results.php page.

Thanks...

please send a valid link.

that link gives a 404 page not found error.

The category page is at: http://www.centurymachinery.com/categories.php
I think the capital C threw it off from the auto-correct on my phone. My bad.

Search: http://centurymachinery.com/products_search.php

your search is not configured to search the categories.

before the category links can be created, the search must be configured to search by category.

Jason,

What I've done is, using the DataAssist Pages Wizard, I created a products.php and details.php page. They work fine. What I want to do now, is link the http://www.centurymachinery.com/categories.php (keep in mind, each category only has 1 test product) to show the results in the products.php page.

Right now, when I click on a category, it shows all 5 products on the products.php page, not the 1 that relates to that category.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

before you can get the category page to work, your product search needs to be configured to search by category as well.

at this point, the search is not configured to search by category.

once it is, you can do a category search to get the idea of what the category link should look like.

you are not setting up the search to search by category

And where do I do that? On the categories.php page in the Recordset? All I want is the products.php page to show all the products in the category from the categories.php page.

you need to recreate the search so that it also searches the categories.
