Error in registration and update redirecting to correct page but loosing domain name

Hi Guys, Again thank you for the continued support in my learning curve.

Today's issue arises after adding a double opt in to my registration page.

I have followed said tutorial twice now with the same result.

When registering email fires correct and link works from email along with verification etc.

However, when you register, the redirect link does take you to the register-confirm.php but it looses the domain name prefix.

example - what should be:

http://mydomain.com/register-confirm.php

we get

register-comfirm.php

If i go into the redirect of the registration page and add a forward slash to user-confirm.php, the redirect works fine. Now this is all well and good but could someone confirm that this is the correct solution for the registration page?

We have the same issue with the update page - on update it looses the domain name prefix.

Again, adding a forward slash to the redirection link solves this problem.

Please could some confirm that this is also the right solution to loosing the domain name prefix.

I only ask as i have checked my page prior to following the Double Opt In Tutorial and the redirect links don't have a forward slash and updates fine etc.

Kind regards

Jonathon.

Hi Jason, Thank you for the quick response to my questions.

I have come to check that everything works with the Double opt in.

One error I found is that if you go to log in without verifying your email account I get a long string in the address bar. I know that i have read something about this but i am unable to remember where.

userupdate.php?accesscheck=%2Fuserupdate.php%3Faccesscheck%3D%252Fuserupdate.php%253Faccesscheck%253D%25252Fuserupdate.php%25253Faccesscheck%25253D%2525252Fuserupdate.php%2525253Faccesscheck%2525253D%252525252Fuserupdate.php%252525253Faccesscheck%252525253D%25252525252Fuserupdate.php%25252525253Faccesscheck%25252525253D%2525252525252Fuserupdate.php%2525252525253Faccesscheck%2525252525253D%252525252525252Fuserupdate.php%252525252525253Faccesscheck%252525252525253D%25252525252525252Fuserupdate.php%25252525252525253Faccesscheck%25252525252525253D%2525252525252525252Fuserupdate.php%2525252525252525253Faccesscheck%2525252525252525253D%252525252525252525252Fuserupdate.php%252525252525252525253Faccesscheck%252525252525252525253D%25252525252525252525252Fuserupdate.php%25252525252525252525253Faccesscheck%25252525252525252525253D%2525252525252525252525252Fuserupdate.php%2525252525252525252525253Faccesscheck%2525252525252525252525253D%252525252525252525252525252Fuserupdate.php%252525252525252525252525253Faccesscheck%252525252525252525252525253D%25252525252525252525252525252Fuserupdate.php%25252525252525252525252525253Faccesscheck%25252525252525252525252525253D%2525252525252525252525252525252Fuserupdate.php%2525252525252525252525252525253Faccesscheck%2525252525252525252525252525253D%252525252525252525252525252525252Fuserupdate.php%252525252525252525252525252525253Faccesscheck%252525252525252525252525252525253D%25252525252525252525252525252525252Fuserupdate.php%25252525252525252525252525252525253Faccesscheck%25252525252525252525252525252525253D%2525252525252525252525252525252525252Fuserupdate.php%2525252525252525252525252525252525253FloggedIn%2525252525252525252525252525252525253D1

what access restriction is applied to the user update page?

sounds like you have the restrict access behavior on the user update page, and you are redirecting to the user update page if access fails causing an endless loop.

Yes i have restricted access as VerifiedUser and to redirect to the update page which should then show region to send new verify link.
