updating static plugin to use plug in title

I have a static plugin page in my framework site and when I created the plugin, did not select the option to use the plug in title for page title.

I have gone to my sever behaviors and tried to do this retrospectively, but nothing seems to happen.

I updated the framework folder on the server and cleared my browser cache, so wondered if this is a bug, what do I need to add to my page manually for this to work ?

I'm not able to reproduce this issue, In my testes, the change unchecking the title option to checking it is sticking.

to make the change manually, open the bindings panel, there will be a binding group for the static plugin, one of the bindings will be for the title, drag this binding to the title tag for the page.

I couldn't get it to work without manually dragging the binding to the page.

I also needed to add <title> tags to the section, like so.

<!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="doctitle" --><title><?php echo((isset($WA_products_1350892330507))?$WA_products_1350892330507->Title:"") ?></title><!-- InstanceEndEditable -->

i assume this is correct, as it seems to work ok now

yes, that is correct, the absence of title tags to begin with could have been the cause of the problem.

Just to come back to this one.

I have the situation again with a static plugin page, where i am using the plugin page with PowerCMS.

So I have the content areas and the page optimisation on the plugin page, editable in powerCMS, but I want the template page to show the title and the meta tags of the plugin page.

Following the comments above, i have tried dragging the bindings to the page, but which bindings do i need for meta contents and meta keywords, i'm sure i tried them all

It depends on what meta tags are on the main page and what meta tags are on the plugin page.

my plugin page has a head section which contains the following

<code>
<title><?php echo WA_getCMSContent($database_PowerCMSConnection, $PowerCMSConnection, 'menus', 'meta-title', true); ?></title>
<meta name="keywords" content="<?php echo WA_getCMSContent($database_PowerCMSConnection, $PowerCMSConnection, 'menus', 'meta-keywords'); ?>" />
<meta name="description" content="<?php echo WA_getCMSContent($database_PowerCMSConnection, $PowerCMSConnection, 'menus', 'meta-description'); ?>" />
</code>

My themed page contains the following

<code>
<title><?php echo((isset($WA_menus_1364886481232))?$WA_menus_1364886481232->Title:"") ?></title>
</code>

have tried adding <meta name="keywords" content="<?php echo((isset($WA_menus_1364886481232))?$WA_menus_1364886481232->MetaKeywords_Content:"") ?>" /> by dragging the binding to the page, but it doesn't seem to work, i get the title, thats it

so you have the meta description content tag:
<meta name="description" content="<?php echo WA_getCMSContent($database_PowerCMSConnection, $PowerCMSConnection, 'menus', 'meta-description'); ?>" />

you should be using the meta description content binding instead of the meta keywords content binding.

i will look at this again in the morning, I tried that, looked at the page source, nothing there.

must be missing something

to me, logic states that to i need the MetaKeywords_Content and the MetaDescription_Content bindings and neither one give me any content

<title><?php echo((isset($WA_menus_1364886481232))?$WA_menus_1364886481232->Title:"") ?></title>
<meta name="keywords" content="<?php echo((isset($WA_menus_1364886481232))?$WA_menus_1364886481232->MetaKeywords_Content:"") ?>" />
<meta name="description" content="<?php echo((isset($WA_menus_1364886481232))?$WA_menus_1364886481232->MetaDescription_Content:"") ?>" />

I have posted the pages so you can see the issue first hand.

The plugin page is found at http://sandbox.forthwebsolutions.com/plugins/menus.php

This is the page with content managed by PowerCMS. Looking at the source, you can see the title and metatags in the head section.

The main page is http://sandbox.forthwebsolutions.com /menus.php

Looking at the source, you can see the title is retrieved from the plugin page, but nothing else.

Can’t find a tutorial on this, so not 100% sure I’m doing it correctly, but hopefully you can see the problem.
