Inserting current date in DB with created/updated field.

Hello,
Using databridge insert via data assist pages, I have a database with a created (hidden field on form) (Type: timestamp) and an updated field (Type: timestamp, Attributes: on update CURRENT_TIMESTAMP).
Inserting the field results in 00-00s. How can I correct this to reflect the current time on insertion of the form and reflect the time of article update which is my goal.
Any pointers in the correct direction will be appreciated.

Thanks.

on the update page, create a hidden form element that is set to use the current date as it's value:

php:
<input type="hidden" name="updateDate" id="updateDate" value="<?php echo(date("Y-m-d h:i:s")); ?>" />

in the update record behavior, bind the update date column to the hidden form element

What if you just want the date and not the time? I tried this and it did not work value="<?php echo(date("Y-m-d")); ?>" />

If you are using the timestamp column type, it will not ignore the hour minutes seconds when creating or updating a record.

however, you don't need to use them on the pages that you display the date. When displaying the date from the database on your page using a recordset, you can strip the hours minutes seconds part using the date function, for example:

[php]<?php echo(date("Y-m-d", strtotime($row_RecordsetName['ColumnName']))); ?>[php]

the other option would be to use the Date column type instead of using timestamp. The draw back to this is that the Date column type does not support using a default value to automatically set the date when a record is created.
