Urgent Help!!!

Hello,

I have the latest versions of DataBridge and designExtender. I have an OsCommerce website on my local computer (installed xampp on it). On that website I have a pages called "Products.php" and "Product_info.php".

I need a detailed help with security assist as to secure these 2 php pages. That is, if a user would like to access these pages, he/she will be redirected to the "Login.php" page, and there the user will either login with his/her username and password OR will have to register and become a member.

I am no coder and I need a desperate detailed help (step by step) on how to do it.

Thank you in advance,

Shalom Lasry

Run the security assist wizard to create the login and registration pages.

After the security assist wizard completes, the access pages manager will open. apply the "Logged Into <your table name>" (where <your table name> is the name of your users table) rule to the Products.php and "Product_info.php page in your site.

Urgent Help!!!

Hello Jason,

Thank you for the reply. I have a registration and a login page created by the OsCommerce website. How do I proceed with the security assist?

I plead you if you can be specific with me as to the part with the rules.

Thank you,

Shalom Lasry

I missed the part where you mentioned that this was an osCommerce site.

Security Assist cannot be used to manage the login system created by OS Commerce. you will need to refer to the OS commerce documentation for details on adding page access restrictions using their login system.

Urgent Help!!!

Hello Jason,

Thank you again for the reply. I do find it hard to believe that Security Assist does not have the capabilities to secure existing PHP pages (wether they were in oscommerce or any other php website). Isn't what that nice feature called Security Assist for?

Let me know,

Thank you in advance.

Well, login in using security assist is done by looking up the username and password that is entered, and storing the ID for the user in a session variable

It may be that the osCommerce system works in a similar fashion, but it may work differantly.

since the login system is not created by security assist, there is no way to know what that session variable is called, if indeed it works in the same fashion.

I'm sure that if osCommerce has a login system, it can also be used to restrict access to pages.

security assist is intended to be used with a login / registration system created by security assist, not one created by a third party
