eCart doesn't let me add a new "Add To Cart Button"

eCart doesn't let me add a new "Add To Cart Button"

Hello,

I am having a trouble with eCart (vs. 506).
As I click on "Add to Cart button", nothing happens. I mean, from the menu, I choose Insert > WebAssist > eCart > Add To Card Button, and nothing happens (all the other menues from WebAssist seem to be working.) A pop up window of "eCart Add To Cart Button" doesn't pop up at all. Also, all the menus for eCart on Insert PANEL is all gone.

If I go to server behavior panel, and double click on ready-existing (created before the problem started) "Add eCart from Record Set", then a window pops up.
Somehow I can not add any new Add to Cart Button from menu.

My OS is OSX 10.7.4 .

One big change i made before this trouble was installing MS Office 2011.
So I uninstalled it, but no change.
So I tried below (still no MS Office installed again);

- Uninstalled eCart from Extension Manager/restart computer/re-installed
- downloaded eCart file from WebAssist.com again and did the above again
- deleted the MacFileCache.dat file
- re-generated DW Configuration folder
- uninstalled DW (CS4) and reinstalled

None solved the problem.

My OS is in Japanese, so as Dreamweaver CS4, although I've used eCart for about 2 years and this is the first time to have this problem.

Is there anything you could suggest to look at?
At the moment I only make changes to existing sites, so copy&paste of the Add to cart buttons' form and php elements for new products is do-able. But I rather have this function back so the next time if I have to make a brand new shopping site I don't have to go through copy&paste, as it gets pretty confusing for having many products in one page.

I hope I'm making sense to you.

I have the same problem. Could it be possible that after updating Java this happened? The "Add" button isn't clickeable... Please help!

Make sure that you have a php page saved to your Dreamweaver site and that it is open in DW.

In the eCart Object Panel, click on the Cart Icon just under the add button if if it is not enabled, that should trigger it to be enabled.

or you may need to goto WebAssist -> eCart -> Add to Cart to add an add to cart button to trigger the serial number window before a cart object can be added.

Happened again!

Hi Jason,

I'm experiencing the same issue again. Just updated to eCart610.
And just like two years ago (read above), "Add To Cart Button" is clickable, yet not responding at all.
You solved the problem beautifully last time, but it seems I lost the note I made about what you did in which file, and I can't remember what you did...

My OS is 10.9.5 in Japanese.
Did all the possible solutions (deleting .dat file, renaming configuration folder and re-installing eCart, updating all the other plugins) and nothing made a change.

Do I need a support ticket for this again?

This is probably a japanese OS issue. I think the installer is probably not finding the installation folder and adding the necessary files due to the foreign language folder names.

I'll email you the installation .zip file that you can manually copy into your users configuration folder to complete the installation manually.

Hi Ray,

I copied the folders and files you sent me into Configuration folder.
There was no change unfortunately. Still "Add to cart button" is not active.
And I found that there are other functions that don't work;

/////////////
-Display Manager
------
-View cart button
-Clear cart button
-Continue shopping button
-Update cart button
-Checkout button
------
-Updatable text field
-Updatebale check box
-Updatebale list
------
Insert checkout button
/////////////

And these are active and DO work;
/////////////
-eCart object
-Checkout wizard
-Payment Gateway credentials
/////////////

So then I deleted .dat file --> no change.
Then I uninstalled eCart6 from Extension Manager, rename the Configuration folder, copied eCart file you sent me into a new Configuration folder.
Still no change, but this time eCart is not recognized in Extension Manager, thus no eCart menus on the menu bar in DW. I can see the eCart functions in Server behavior panel though.

What else can I try?
Thank you for your help.

Do you have a site defined and a .php page open when trying to access the add to cart button? Those are both necessary.

I may need to set up a screen sharing session to debug this with you. Please post a US phone number or Skype contact information so I can look into this with you directly.

Hi Ray,
Sorry I didn't realize you've already replied me.
Yes I have my site defined on DW CS4 (I've used eCart at least 3 years) and a PHP file is always open when trying to add the add to cart button.

Could you let me know what my set-up should be before sharing a screen so I don't have to make you wait once it starts?
At the moment my eCart is 610. I'v downloaded 611, not installed yet.

I noted my Skype info in Private Message.

Thank you for your help!

Do you have an eCart object defined? Go to the cart object command and create a new cart object for the site. If it doesn't find the cart object it won't let you place an add to cart button.
