Making images larger in Gallery

Thread began 8/13/2012 2:34 pm by nancy268153 | Last modified 8/14/2012 12:49 pm by nancy268153 | 920 views | 2 replies |

Making images larger in Gallery

Please forgive me if this is addressed elsewhere I'm afraid I cannot find it.
I would like to have my images zoom larger when I click on a thumbnail inside one of my galleries. When I create a new gallery it seems to be resizing them smaller than what I want to upload and they are not as large as I want them to be when they appear in the lightbox. can this be changed? I am using them in the long product description.

changing the size of the gallery images takes a fair bit.

in the admin/common/properties.php the following code sets the sizes of the images to create when an image is uploaded to a gallery:

php:
$GLOBALS['resize_proportional'] = array(

    array('w' => 1024, 'h' => 768, 'watermark' => true),
    array('w' => 782, 'h' => 481, 'watermark' => true),
    array('w' => 163, 'h' => 92)
);
$GLOBALS['resize_cropped'] = array(
    array('w' => 62, 'h' => 62),
    array('w' => 132, 'h' => 140),
    array('w' => 102, 'h' => 102),
    array('w' => 42, 'h' => 42),
    array('w' => 782, 'h' => 481, 'watermark' => true),
    array('w' => 995, 'h' => 260, 'watermark' => true)
);

in the galleries folder, the is a subfolder for each gallery type. in each subfolder is an index.php file that generates the gallery. For example, the Ribbon Light box Power store gallery is generated by the gallery/ribbon_lightbox_powerstore/index.php file.

in the index file, there will be a line similar to this:

php:
$gallery = get_gallery(get_mediarss_url('gallery=' . $pg_id . '&thumb=62c&full=782p'));

that sets the image sizes to use. in this case, the thumbnails use the 62c image size defined in the cropped array:

php:
array('w' => 62, 'h' => 62),

and the large images use the 782p image size defined in the proportional array:

php:
array('w' => 782, 'h' => 481, 'watermark' => true),

you can edit the index file to set it to use a different size for the large images:
change:
&full=782p

to:
&full=1024p

for example.

you can also edit the properties file to define a new image size. if you define a new image size, you will need to edit the water mark to have the images regenerated.
