Dreamweaver connection GoDaddy MySQL

Hello,

I have been trying every possible way to make a
DB connection from Dreamweaver CS5.5 to a DB
created on GoDaddy.

I've tried both Dynamic and Static Connections.

I copied the SQL Server name from their phpmyadmin
console along with the user account. Both are
excessively long.

I can connect from Dreamweaver to GoDaddy via the
built in FTP. But each time I press Test on a DB
I get UNIDENTIFIED Error.

Anyone else using GoDaddy? I've had success with other
hosts. Unfortunately this task I'm doing is for a client.

Thanks. HL Jones

make sure that the testing server connection is set properly to connect to your go daddy FTP account, also make sure to set a correct web address for your site in the testing server URL Prefix setting.

My ftp works fine I am successfully connecting.

My db connections are not working and all server
connections are properly set with correct URL's.

When you setup the database did you enable Direct Access? If you did not toggle this option you will not be able to access the database remotely. You can not add this feature after the database is already created. If this option was not toggled you will need to create a new database.

Still Having Trouble - GoDaddy / WebHostingPad

Thanks for your help in advance.

I am still having trouble getting Dreamweaver to connect to my remote MySQL db's on GoDaddy and WebHostingPad.

Both of these accounts are properly setup to FTP from Dreamweaver as I am getting the acknowledgement that I am connected as a Test and Remote. I can upload and download
from Dreamweaver on both.

However when I try to upload/add the CMS I keep getting errors.

On WebhostingPad when I login to PhpMyAdmin ----- the system shows the database named as Localhost. I also followed their instructions to allow for allowing remote connections by explicitly adding domains.

I know longer get unidentified error message. But I get unable to grant access to the specified user I account I have setup. I know the account is correct but it still won't work.
Any ideas what could be going wrong?

this points to a problem in the Site Definition settings for connecting to the Testing Server.

Most likely the WEB URL (or URL Prefix in DW CS4 and bellow) that is entered for the testing server is not the correct web address. Also, if the FTP connection does not connect to the web space root, you may need to set the root directory

Connected but....

I added a separate Test and Remote connection in the Site parameters.
After MUCH configuring and testing I can see the TEST db but not the new
db that I created. I have made certain that I have the right credentials. I
tried using different user accounts but no go. Any ideas why my new db isn't showing? This is with WebHostingpad.

DW3 last version to work with GoDaddy MySQL

After much research for answers online, and testing my own configurations, I have found that when I work with a site hosted on GoDaddy using a MySQL DB only DW3 will work. All Dreamweaver versions above DW3 produce this error. I don't believe this is a web assist issue.

Tested all versions above DW3 - None work.
Ensured MySQL DB on GoDaddy has proper permissions (Direct Access)
Deleted and recreated DW Cache File
Can connect via MySQL console app and work with the DB
Problem is isolated to the newer versions of DW.
Unfortunately, the only solution I have found is to revert to DW3 when working with this setup.
