Why can't I edit my contents

Thread began 6/29/2012 9:30 am by lr_leal239405 | Last modified 8/14/2012 12:30 pm by Jason Byrnes | 3076 views | 10 replies |

Why can't I edit my contents

When I click on 'Define' next to Contents:Portfolio(custom), it doesn't bring up my menu content. It brings up the default, so I can't edit what I already have unless I go directly to the menu.php file. How come? Is it because I didn't save it with a different name? However, on the 'Define' next to Theme: site menu, it does come up with the theme options I set in place, so I can edit those. I included a snapshot of what I'm talking about.

It looks like you are inserting a new menu, not editing the existing one.

to edit the existing menu, select the menu in design view, and in the property inspector, click the edit button.

NOTE: if you manually edit the menu.php page, the changes wont be displayed in the Menu Writer interface.

Can't edit menu contents

I, too, am having a similar problem. I AM in design view, I click the menu, the edit menu button displays, but when I click the edit menu it always opens the Insert Menu....

Hi Jason

Think I found out why. The errors comes when I try to add a menu to a dw template.

When I add it to a normal php page, it works just find...

but how can I apply a menu to a sw template then ??

best regards

you could add the men to a regular page, then use Framework builder to add it to the template as a plugin.

Please guide me how to do this:

when I try to add plugin to dw template I get this message:

"Before you can launch this interface, you will need to open a PHP page from the current site in Dreamweaver", so I cant make the menu as a plugin.

is it not a little complicated this way.

From my asp days, I could simply include the file in the template.

Please advise how to get a menu into the dw template
