JS Errors with DA Page Creation

JS Errors with DA Page Creation

I've been attempting to work with the Data Assist Page creation feature to create backend admin pages and have been running into various JavaScript execution errors part way through the execution process and the process halts. I've attached two different errors that were encountered. The first was encountered when creating a set of pages from scratch and happened after the insert page had been successfully completed but while the results page was in progress. The insert page would function correctly when tested in terms of adding records but the results page was incomplete due to the halt.

The second was encountered attempting to create the User Admin (including creation of the DB tables) after the insert page and update page had been created and while the results page was in progress. The DB tables were successfully created but only the two pages produced.

I've been able to get pages to run through succesfully so long as the fields are simple and a direct reflection of what's in the tables...the moment I start trying to use menus/lists that point to other tables for values/names, errors occur.

I'm running DW CS5.5, Windows 7, and have the DataBridge, DesignExtender, and eCart extensions installed as the latest versions. I tried uninstalling the Databridge extension and reinstalling and the errors persist.

I'm not sure if it is related, but the pages that do execute when the errors are encountered have HTML and PHP code irregularities at the end of the pages in terms of the final html and php tags getting jumbled together and repeated incorrectly. Those are easily fixed by hand, I include it here only as a possible additional symptom. Those jumble errors don't occur when I try to create simple pages and the code is clean and works without issue.

Did you uninstall DesignExtender and eCart before installing DataBridge?

I only tried uninstalling and reinstalling the DataBridge since I assumed the different extension packs didn't interact with each other and I wasn't experiencing any issues with the other elements. No older versions have been installed previously, only the currently available versions for each of the three (DataBridge, DesignExtender, eCart). Is there a "best" order of installation for these to work to avoid issues?

The instructions on the WA site state that you must uninstall the extensions that have been integrated into DB *before* installing DB - that would include DesignExtender. I beleive that eCart is also mentioned as not being integrated, but needing to be reinstalled.

I acquired all three as part of the Super Suite package at the same time and installed them one at a time with Databridge going last for no particular reason. Will try uninstalling all three and installing Databridge first followed by the other two and see if that solves the issue.

In this case, you may have done things properly without realizing it. When you mentioned the other extensions I assumed that they were legacy extensions that were already installed.

The experiment failed. I uninstalled DesignExtender, eCart, and DataBridge. Re-downloaded the DataBridge pack from the website just to be sure there wasn't an issue with the file being corrupted somehow. Cleared the Wincache file and reinstalled ONLY the Databridge extension. Still get the keyCol JS errors when attempting to create pages from a blank file. First time around I tried creating a full set of pages and the process halted during the creation of the Update page (Insert page created successfully). Thinking it might be an issue with the Update page, I tried a second time without the Update page and the process halted during the creation of the Results page (Insert page created succesfully) with the same keyCol error.

This would seem to rule out a conflict issue with other extensions, so not sure what else to try at this point.

Some combination of the uninstall/reinstall cycle must have corrected the error. After I reinstalled DesignExtender and eCart, DataAssist wouldn't work at all (not even the first menu screens would load), so it seems that DataBridge must be the last one installed regardless if using all three components of SuperSuite together. I removed the DB extension, opened DW after the removal to be sure it was gone, closed DW so it would create a new Wincache file without DB installed, restarted the computer, then reinstalled the extension and tested out DA Pages and was able to get a full cycle of pages to generate even if they used menus or validations. Not sure exactly why this particular series of steps worked when the previous attempts didn't, but I'll take the end result in terms of a functional success. :)

I recommend installing the extensions in this order:

eCart
Design Extender
Data Bridge.
