PowerCMS Builder on Testing Server

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know how to setup PowerCMS Builder to work properly on a Testing Server? I have followed the instruction found on the help and Installing Power CMS documentation but it seems to be pretty vague on what I need do.

Thanks in advance.

first you need to properly configure the dreamweaver site to connect to the testing server, see the "Defining a Dynamic Site in Dreamweaver" tutorial on the learning resource page:

tutorials.php

Then create the database connection in dreamweaver, see the "Creating your database connection in Dreamweaver" tutorial also on the learning resources page.

now create a php page in your site and you can start using Power CMS Builder.

Hello Jason,

I have followed the tutorial to define a dynamic site in Dreamweaver. I tested my connection and there was no problem. However when I want to Add content to Power CMS Builder and after completing the detail click finish, I get an error message which you can see in the image below.

I have granted full privileges to the database in question and I cannot think of what else I need to do to have Power CMS builder connected.

Appreciate your help.

Thank you.

this error usually happens when there is a problem with the Dreamweaver Site Settings for connecting to the testing server.

please send a screen shot in a zip archive showing the settings for connecting to the testing server.

Hello Jason,

I was able to finally fix the problem with the database connection for the testing server. The problem was I entered the web url for the remote server in Local info Web URL under Advance Setting menu tab, which conflicted with the location of the testing server. Once I removed the remote web url, PowerCMS Builder was able to connect, upload and directed me to the setup page.

The problem that I am now facing is perhaps best explained by viewing the zip image. In a nutshell, Setup page is requesting for the serial number which I don't think will activate in a Testing Server.

Please have a look and advise.

Thank you.

you need to enter the power CMS Builder serial number, it should not have a problem activating as long as cURL is enabled your server.

see this page for details on enabling cURL in xampp:
how-to-enable-curl-php-extension-in.html

Please elaborate precisley and img would be nice

I have the same problem However it happened on one domain and not on another. Odd! My testing and remote server are both "remote". In the site set up I do have two server "rows" one labeled remote and the other testing... in the ftp I have www.domain... then in the url I have http://www.domain.com/https...is this incorrect? :)
Thank you.[/quote]

no that does not look like a valid URL

In the Web URL, you need to provide a valid URL to access the site, you should be able to past the URL into a web browser and load the site
