Strange error with a "Contact Us" form after adding a Google map

I have a Contact Us form with server validation and email facilities. The form works as it should. Emails are sent, I'm redirected to the "Thank You" page and if I forget to fill in a required field, the server validation alerts me. So far so good.

I have also added a Google map to this page. The Google map works fine, but the form does not. Emails are sent, but I'm not redirected to the "Thank You" page and the server validation creates this error:

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/4/s/syversen-elektro/www/kontaktoss.php:1) in /home/4/s/syversen-elektro/www/webassist/form_validations/wavt_validatedform_php.php on line 3

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/4/s/syversen-elektro/www/kontaktoss.php:1) in /home/4/s/syversen-elektro/www/webassist/form_validations/wavt_scripts_php.php on line 83

You can test it on live URL here:

I'm attaching my working files.

Rune

see this thread for details on troubleshooting the headers already sent error:

showthread.php?t=19285

on this page, i think the issue is the last one discussed in that post:

  2) The Unicode Signature (BOM) PHP bug. the forth screen shot shows the Title / Encoding category of the Page Properties screen (Modify - > Page Properties). Checking the Include Signature (BOM) option can cause the headers already sent error

Yes, maybe it is. The Include Signature (BOM) option is checked for the page with the "Contact us" form and the Google map included. See the attached picture. As you can see, the checkbox and the other fields are "greyed out" so I can't remove it. What part of the code do I have to modify?

it's not something that can be modified codewise. The BOM Signature is a byte that is written to the header of the page. you wont see it, but it's there.

you may need to use a Text Editor like TextWrangler to open and save the page with out the BOM Signature if you cannot turn it off in Dreamweaver.

Ok. I have closed Dreamwevare, opened the page in notepad and saved it over the orginal file. I have uploaded the new file to the server, but I still have the same error.

I'm attaching a new copy of my file.

In the Note Pad save as dialog, what is the Encoding set to? try changing the Encoding to ANSI

Yes, changing the encoding to ANSI solved the problem.

Thanks again for helping me on this.
