IRite issue

Hi,

Am still using iRite as am bout to change to PHP but still have lots of ASP sites running.

I guess youm wont support this any more but just wondered if you can shed any light on a really annoying glitch..

When i add a link in iRite it asks for PROTOCAL so i put in http:// - i then add full path URL and all is fine.

soon as i go back in and do any other updates it changes the PROTOCOL to "other" and wraps "" around my URl so

contact.asp

becomes

the resultant live link becomes

contact.asp%22%22

do you know of any way round this issue short term whilst i get to grips with transferring to PHP and rebuilding all sites. it is a massive headache - thanks for any advice!

in the initial value setting for irite, is there formatting for converting the " characters to the HTML entity "& quote;" (added space so it wouldn't be converted)

try rebinding the initial value to remove any formatting.

iRite

the only options i can see are to

Encode HTML entities
ENcode Non-ASCII characters

have tried checking/unchecking but no difference.

There is an option to

Encode additional

but i dont know whether that's relevant or which character would specify....

it just appears to be writing a pair of quote marks around the link each time the page updates, adds a new pair each time.

there must be a way to tell it to not do that...?!

yeah, the initial value for each of the iRite instances is using the replace function to convert the " to the html entity.

edit the iRite instance, click the lightning bolt next to initial value and reselect the corresponding column from the recordset, this will remove the replace function code.
