File field value blank

Hi,

I have an file field for image uploads on a page created with DA, on the Update page there is no default value listed when the page loads, so if the client wishes to update the image caption only and saves it the image name is removed from the database. I'm sure it is just a simple edit as most of my issues have been, but I am stuck. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Gary

a file field cannot be assigned a default value.

you need to create a hidden element, set the initial; value for the hidden element to use the file name from the database, then in the upload file behavior, bind the default file option to the hidden element

see the "How to apply Digital File Pro to DataAssist Insert and Update pages" tutorial in the How to section of the data assist support page for more details:

Hi Jason,

Thank you for the quick response, I followed the suggested tutorial, but when arriving at the point regarding the update server behavior beginning at step 20, where you are supposed to select the new column, the file field column is not shown as an option??

in this step you are selecting the database column that will hold the file name that is uploaded, then clicking the lightning bolt to set it's binding

from the binding group for the WA Uploaded Files (Name of your file field) binding group, select the Server File Name variable.
