Product options -- Weight

Am selling mated images. Want to use the Product options as selection for customer to add different color frames. Have been able to do that and charge the different price.

My question is: The frame adds weight to the initial shipping charges and I don't see any way to add the weight of the frame to the order so that the total shipping weight is correct.

Is my only option making it an additional product? If so can I provide a button/link fo them to add a frame before they check out, or are they forced to go to the sub menu to the left and choose the product.

using advanced options, the options can have unique price, weight, description or product image.

when editing the product, select the option, check the Only Update <options name> Options checkbox and then change the weight, it will only apply that weight to the selected option name.

I'm trying to do the same thing but getting confused. Where is the video that references this please?

there is not a video that refereances this, but when you set up Advanced options for a product, go the product update page, there will be a section titled:
Choose the variation of this product to edit...

there will be a select list for each option group, listing each of the options for that group.

select the option to edit the settings for, then you can apply a unique, image, price weight etc value for that option
