Validation Questions

Hi,

How am I able to check if I applied the dynamic data bindings for the checkout form to the confirm page binding to the confirm.php page?

I have two possibilities that made sense to me:
ecart_checkout_form
ecart_checkout form (checkout.php)

If one of these is indicative of the dynamic data binding, do I need to remove this/these before applying server validations?

Next related question:

If I used Spry client validations, should I remove these to apply WebAssist Client Validations?

Removal of spry validations followed by applying WA Server Validations; then, reapply the dynamic data bindings?

After all of this, the input information from the checkout.php page form should stay in the form fields when the visitor selects the modify button from the confirm.php page?

Another related question:

The usual settings for the server validation insert dialog box:

Validation trigger: Checkout Button Pressed

Validation type: Select corresponding text field item

Server variable:Dynamic button; select corresponding variable; (+) to add the corresponding variable

Failed redirect: checkout.php

Use this procedure for each form field?

Sorry about this I just need some clarification to get this completed.

Thank you!!

use the ecart_checkout form (checkout.php) binding group.

If you are using Spry validation, client side validation is not needed. They both use javascript to perform validation in the clients browser

for the validation trigger, click the lightning bolt icon and select the submit button from the ecart_checkout form (checkout.php) binding group.

failed redirect should point back to the checkout.php page.

see this thread for more details on using server validation with the eCart cehckout pages:

server validation

Jason,

Hi!

I have the confirm.php page open in design view trying to apply server validations.

I select WebAssist > Forms > Validation > Server Validation.

With the Server Validations Insert dialog box open, I am selecting the submit order button press; credit card validation type; cc_type at the lightening bolt; plus button;

The attached javascript error occurs at line 14.

Also included in the attachment is another javascript error at line 20 when I select the cancel button.

I have deleted the WinFileCache.dat dreamweaver file. When I try again, it happens again.

So I'm doing this wrong. I'm sorry, I'm trying to follow, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

After this is fixed, I still need to understand if I use the same open Server Validations Insert dialog box for adding each each server validation for the form, or do I reopen the Server Validations Insert dialog box for each server validation?

Also, there is server validation selection for the cc expiration date or security number - is this wrong or do I disregard those fields?

I'm so sorry I am so lost with this.

Thank you.
