Power CMS

Is there ever a chance that the CMS will be change to allow different users only pages you decide they can change.

Your Power CMS is great, but the limitations with security is killing me.

If you plan on changing your Power CMS in the near feature to allow that, you will have such a killer extension.

If you are not...any ideas? Any help would be great.

thx

Mike

Isn't this already possible?

No Tom, they don't.

You have 2 conditions of security. Super Admin who sets the site and the Admin's who can modify.

Since I want a offer a one website to allow each company their own page they can modify, the admin condition will not work. All admins can change the pages. So each company would have the ability to change what is not theirs.

So I am trying to see if their is a way around this that could work. If you can control people thru security assist and assign a page that only they could get to and allow a CMS to work that way. I might not be able to get PowerCMS to work that way.

So in general, that was my question and has anybody thought of a different way.

thx

half a solution ?

I did look at this a while ago, but after starting, found it wasn't a client requirement, so never got around to finishing it. Here's a link to the thread.

which version of pcms are you looking to add this to? I added this functionality into version 1.02. I also added in that the user can change contents on their pages but it won't go live until the main admin approves it.There is also a toggle to turn that on/off for individual sub admins in the main admin control panel.

i think there were just a few code tweaks between 1.01 and 1.02, essentially the same thing though.
I posted my email to this thread if you decide you want to add what I have built.

also, I don't know if you have tried the editor in pcms1 with internet explorer9, but there are some issues.
I did a walkthru on how to update the editor if you have the htmleditor3 extension here
