Display total number of items in cart at top of page

Hi I am trying to display the total number of items in the shopping cart at the top of every web page and I read a thread that refers to Quick Cart, how could I access this functionallity?
The post reply mentioned added the following code to the pages,
<?php
//WA eCart Include
require_once("WA_eCart/ycCart_PHP.php");
?>
<?php
$ycCart->GetContent();
?>
At the moment, this file does not exist in my WA_ecart directory.
Any advice would be appreciated

UPDATED

Following the post and a Google search I found this link

ec_ed_03.htm

Is there a way I can add this functionality, without scrapping my existing build, as my cart has been based on the default option for the cart?

ycCart_PHP.php is referring to the code you would add if your cart was named "ycCart" you would add a reference to the file associated with the shopping cart you are using.

So anywhere in that code you see ycCart you would actually put your shopping cart name.

To display the total number of items in the cart you could use:

<?php echo($[yourcartname]->TotalColumn("Quantity")); ?>

You have to replace [yourcartname] with your cart name.
