not working in IE6

Hi
I just starting using Menu writer. My menu design renders fine in IE 7 and 8 but not in 6. It can be viewed here: index.htm

I assume there's something wrong in the menu_ie.css but I don't know what to be looking for.

Also the sub menus are not displaying is IE7

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

***update***
I figured out that a surrounding div was causing the problem. However, without the div, now I can't seem to get the background color to extend behind the menu. It should be the blue color, like the nav buttons are. I've tried adding the color to the UL and changing its width..nada. Please help this is driving me crazy

Without code it's hard to tell what's going wrong, looks like the div tag is allready defined somewhere as a descendant selector. Try adding a classname to the div tag and define the class, in most cases this works...

Looks like the menu is no longer on the page. If you add it back I can take a look and see what I can spot.

I managed to get the whole thing to work by removing all surrounding divs. Final result can be seen here: www.friendinc.org . It's not 100% right in IE6 but I think it's good enough. I am interested in learning more about how assigning and defining a class on a div would make any difference. For example, on the site above, the menu has a blue background the width of the design. I used a background image on the outer div to accomplish this but had originally placed a div with an id assigned and a background color that surrounded just the menu. And it would not work this way. Is there some restriction on wrapping a div around a CSS menu or does the method of assigning a class to div as describe in an earlier post solve the problem. Thanks for the input.

IE6 and CSS Menu Writer

I'd really like to see a paper or some good research and suggestions from WebAssist on resolving this. I have had similar problems for IE6 (IE 7 and 8 are fine) and CSS Menu Writer and even after submitting a ticket the problem is not resolved. The menus simply fail to work in IE 6.

Do you have a sample URL. Lots of times the problem is with the page the menu is placed on. If you have samples we can look at them. We do continue to support and test on IE6.
