Select a price option

Select a price option

I posted this question yesterday under the Data Assist section and believe I had it in the wrong section.

I am building my first catalog and shopping cart. The products are actually subscriptions and can be purchased with a monthly recurring cost or they can be paid with one payment, which is for a year. I'd like the user to be able to select one or the other.

I tried adding radio butons to the AddToCart Form and then added it to the eCart Add to Cart Button interface but I got a type mismatch 'cDbl'.

Can anyone suggest how best to handle the two payment options using eCart?

Thank you!

Ben

Are you trying to set up the recurring payment system? or just only charge for one month or one year and they would still have to manually pay monthly on the site?

Ray: Thanks for helping me. This site is used only by our agents. The monthly payment is recurring but our accounting dept turns the monthly payment into a recurring charge. They only have to charge the monthly amont once on the shopping cart and our bookkeeper handles the rest. There is a checkbox with the add to cart button where they agree to that.

OK. Then your radio button option probably would have worked. Maybe you just didn't set the radio button values properly.

Are you using a database? What did you do after you created the radio fields? What fields in the cart did you try to update and how?

Ray, you're a genious. When I started to write out exactly what I did, I found my error. It was an error in populating the radio buttons. It works perfectly now.
For the record to possibly help others:
I added 2 radio buttons in a group labled rbPrice and populated the values with my monthly price and annual price that are fields in my item table. This is what I put in the Value field of the radio button for Monthly Payment.<%=(WADAecItems.Fields.Item("ItemMoPrice").Value)%>
Next I opened the eCart "Add From Recordset" dialog and under the tab, Binding, I bound Price to my radio button group like this <%=cStr(Request.Form("rbPrice"))%>

Ray, I really appreciate your help. Thanks!
