width of buttons and hover dropdowns

width of buttons and hover dropdowns

I have had to perform some changes to an existing site.

This meant deleting menu buttons and also changing the names of pages that are listed when you hover over a button.

Deleting buttons / pagesworked via the Modify site routine but of course has left them in the wrong position as though they all need padding out. Any ideas ?

The names of the pages listed are quite long and extend over the right hand side of the dropdown list. Any ideas ?

Thank you in advance.

Regards

Dave

for the width, edit the CSSMenuWriter/cssmw_content/menu.css file.

change:

ul#cssmw_content ul.level-1 > li > a {
background-color: #DA4D33;
background-image: none;
border-bottom: dotted 1px #E9E5F9;
border-left: solid 1px #E9E5F9;
border-right: solid 1px #656586;
color: #fff;
display: block;
font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 10px;
font-style: normal;
font-weight: bold;
margin: 0 0 0 0;
padding: 5px 5px 5px 5px;
text-align: left;
text-decoration: none;
text-transform: uppercase;
width: 100px;
}

to:

ul#cssmw_content ul.level-1 > li > a {

width: 120px;
}

I'm not quite sure what you mean by:

the menu position looks correct to me, can you provide details on how you are expecting the menu to be positioned.

Modification to Width

I have done the modification required, however this has not changed the home page hover dropdowns for the buttons - it has however changed the width of the buttons which you might see for Leistungen if say you follow Konversation for example and hover over the button
here.

Would think I need to do a similar mod elsewhere.

Thanks for the great support which is the best I have ever used.

to change the home page edit the CSSMenuWriter/cssmw_home/menu.css file.

change the width attribute to the ul#cssmw_home ul.level-1 > li > a selector.

Button Width now O.K. but.......

Hi Jason,

Firstly.................

All hover lists for both Home pages and content pages are O.K. now, but in checking button operation I noticed something peculiar........... If you select the site whos URL I gave you then hover over Leistungen and the select say Nachhilfe you are taken to the Nachhilfe page quite correctly

Whilst looking at the Nachhilfe page if you press Leistungen again, you are taken to another unwanted and my case not set up page......... Why ? how do I stop it showing this ?

Secondly............

Is there an easy way I can edit the name of a navigation button/page name so that I can include the umlauts etc ? I can normally copy and paste these in but am not allowed to when using Modify / Site Assist Professional Site, which I would typically use to set up the button/page names.

Thirdly..............

The site in creation started some 12 months ago and work was stopped whilst I was provided with information. Could you point me in the direction of a tutorial which could get me up to speed about what my approach should be regarding changes, and specifically what form a Site Assist Pro build will take, what I should expect to see in the tree, and what parts of this can be modified.

Regards and thank you,

Dave

I an not able to reproduce the first problem. If i click on the Leistungen -> Nachhilfe I am brought to:
nachhilfe.php

clicking on the Leistungen link on that page brings me to:
leistungen.php

this seams correct to me.

to edit the link text for the menu items, edit the CSSMenuWriter/cssmw_content/menu.php and CSSMenuWriter/cssmw_home/menu.php files

all of the available documentation for Site Assist Pro is aon the Iste Assist Pro Support page:
