Currency again!!! $ to £

Currency again!!! $ to £

Right, using a combination of Mike's search info, lots of checking files and trying some searches of my own, it seems I may have found all the code that needs changing. Well, at least I've cleared out the dollars! In most areas, the £ sign is now correctly displayed but in others such as product lists, most popular product pod and most featured pod, I'm just getting a little square box!

Any ideas how I can eliminate that? There is a piece of information on the forum that suggests changing the following code from:
$WA_MailObject = WAUE_Definition("".($WAGLOBAL_Email_Server) ."","25","","","","");

to

$WA_MailObject = WAUE_Definition("".($WAGLOBAL_Email_Server) ."","25","","","","UTF-8");

But that doesn't work (neither does ISO (Western European)).

So, if there any answers out there, I'd be very grateful!

Many thanks,

Sid

Hello????

Any chance of a reply from WA on this?

I don't mean a standard "we don't support currency etc" reply as I've alreaady addressed that for myself, but actually a reply to the question of eliminating the box symbol issue?

Hi Sid
Not sure if you have seen the post yet but WA are releasing an update for Powerstore (hopefully in the next few days) that will have support for UK and a few other currencies. It may be in your intrest to wait for this I think it will be set from the Admin area.

Hope that helps.

Mike

My bet is that you are using the literal "£" character when you should be using the html entity:

£

but lets be realistic; we do not support modifying the currency symbol. This means that when you try it and it doesn't work as you expect, we cannot help you to fix it.

Like MikeH has said in his post, there will be an update available shortly that will address support for the Great British Pound, Canadian Dollar, Australian Dollar and Euro.

Thanks for the info.

Please publish a date for this release for your non-us customers, as a courtesy if for no other reason.

There should be no need to ask for this. Being realistic has not been WA's strongest suit so far in this respect.

As I have already said Neilo, I do not have an exact date to post.

I cannot tell you on exactly what day the update will be made available. All I can say with 100% certainty is that it will be soon.

Correction, neilo, the update is now available;

Thanks Jason,

May this mark a sea-change in attitude towards a new and growing internationalism that will benefit us all. (NZ Dollars has also been requested!)

No, I'm not! It didn't work with either of them!

But great to see the currency update released!
