Groupon Style Shopping Cart.

Hello:
I have a potential client that has requested a shopping cart similar to the Groupon System, www.groupon.com. As far as I can tell, he puts items up for sale and there is a threshold (groupon calls it tipping point) that has to be met before the buyer can receive discounts on the product. So if the tipping point is 15 buyers of the item and it reaches that mark, the sale goes through with the discount. There is also a real time countdown clock showing the end of the sale. If the tipping point is not met, then the buyer has the option to purchase the item at the full retail price. Does anyone know if it is possible to set something like this up on Power Store or Ecart? I hope I have explained this correctly.

Thanks in advance.

Rich

power store would not support this, but it could be done in eCart.

you would need to create a recordset to count the number of orders in the order table for the item, then store that number in a session variable and use that session variable as a trigger for the discount rule.

It should not be to difficult if you are familiar with PHP and creating recordsets.
