it takes updated documentation ...

I think, looking into many post with problems issues, install and uninstall, deleting files in the config folder... trust me if there is not a complete and up to date documentation in which you explain the order of installing, the folders where to change substitute or delete files, that gives a whole vision of installing, there will be more problems than normal (and also a big wasting of time for the users repeating many times a fast fast installation yes... but before severals reeeaaaaaaallllllyyyyy slow uninstallations... a ordered and updated (every time there are improvements) installation documentation, will save our time... and also yours!

the same thing can be for a whole vision workflow (step by step) with the use of your estensions... I saw many videotuts, but regarding old version of extensions that have been discontinued, but found not a lot about the present.
and of course I really hope I'm wrong, maybe this documentation I'm talking about exsist but i did not find it...
so please, if it exsist, let me know where to find it... if it doesn't, please consider this feedback, that has the determination to improve your products and efforts.

with respect

WA extensions and how tos

just to say..... I bought the extensions for a work that I have to finish soon and I tought I would have saved some time and doing things better... but in the last 3/4 day I've spent all the time using extensions (in particular formbuilder/ CSS builder /data assist), always getting some kind of errors both in the wizards and in the created pages functionalities, to uninstall/install deleting files and pages...
despite the whole vision, extensions should not display all those system errors and generate all those problems, but they do! tutorials, you have a lot in your site, but they are old, and I'm gettin' nervous and confused even because I should do my job, not yours of checkin the correct functionality of the extensions.

So I hope to receive soon an exaustive reply from WA staff; I need to do my job, if your extensions work, I'm glad and I will keep them, if they don't, I have to find something else. so please... every product is nothing without Knowledge and information.

If a customer is disappointed, this is not a good thing for you, I suppose, and if the cause is the product... correct it, if is the information, give it... if is both....

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues getting started with our extensions, but if you could tell me what you are trying to accomplish i can direct you to where you can find our documentation.

You can find most of our documentation by going here:

support/

and selecting the product.

In regard to documentation not being updated, if the documentation is not up to date it is because we still support older version of the extensions but for the most part documentation should sill work with newer versions as well.

In regard to the errors that you are getting, if you could please post back with screen shots with the errors you are getting and i will assist in resolving those errors.

Hi Danni,

With respect, WebAssist is one of the few software businesses that doesn't seem able to grasp the idea of version control linked to documentation.

If you have WAProduct_1.0.0, then that would be issued with documentation clearly marked WAProduct_1.0.0_gsg.pdf (or whatever). That document would exist as a download or linked PDF in the support documentation for WAProduct_1.0.0.

If a dot release was issued that included any enhanced or altered (or fixed) functionality, then WAProduct_1.0.1_gsg.pdf (or whatever) would be added to that product's documentation page with an updated PDF that reflected the changes made - in addition to any previous material. The engineers creating the software would then presumably test its implementation following a literal interpretation of the guide to confirm that the instructions are correct.

Similarly with WAProduct_2.0.0. The documentation for this - tested and proved - would co-exist with the previous versions' documentation.

As an example, If I wanted to implement my copy of PowerCMS_101 or any other of my solutions purchased prior to 17th March 2010 (as the previous EULA allows me to use them on as many sites as I like) - I should be able to find required documentation for that specific release.

Too many people seeing guides with missing or innacurate information which refer only to some non-specific generic outline of what the customer should be seeing, often wrongly.

One version number, one accessible, related set of documentation. As it is, you have your customers paying to do all your beta-testing pending the innevitable imminent dot release on each new version.

Regards to Eric & Jimmy, wherever they are. Please can we have them back?

Hi Dani
I complete subscribe what Neilo says
I bought your products to save time and use them with profit, and not for testing them and find out all problems issues and wasting times and times!
can you immagine? is a week that I'm trying to use your products with the only results of wasted time, because there are no solutions from WA, but only words and words.... documentation, I watched almost all the tuts in your site, and also on youtube and from other sources.
the point is (as you can see in the many post in this forums) that extensions have bugs, and until you don't fix them, there always be this situation.
and if I receive this kind of "standard answer" from you, even this is wasting time ( and wasting time is wasting money.... I honestly prefer, if your solving problems behaviour is this, to do things in traditional ways without extensions, because (at the end) the purpose of your extensions, to save time, is not achieved, and plus, I do extra job and extra time for something that should belong to WA and not to me.
